The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said the system is likely to move west-northwestwards across North Odisha and South Jharkhand during the next two days.
Low Pressure Forms Over BoB
Under the influence of the cyclonic circulation over Northwest and adjoining Central Bay of Bengal, a low pressure area formed over Northwest Bay of Bengal off the West Bengal-Odisha coasts on Tuesday.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said the system is likely to move west-northwestwards across North Odisha and South Jharkhand during the next two days.
As per the IMD, the monsoon trough lies south to its normal position and passes through Jaisalmer, Kota, Guna, Siddhi, Ranchi and the centre of low pressure area over Northwest Bay of Bengal off West Bengal-Odisha coasts and thence southeastwards to Eastcentral Bay of Bengal.
West India: Light/moderate fairly widespread to widespread rainfall/thunderstorm and lightning with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely over Gujarat state, north Konkan and ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra on September 19.
East India: Light/moderate fairly widespread to widespread rainfall/thunderstorm and lightning with isolated heavy rainfall very likely over Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand during September 19-22.
Northwest India: Light/moderate scattered to fairly widespread rainfall/thunderstorm with isolated heavy falls very likely over Punjab and Himachal Pradesh on September 19.
Central India: Light/moderate fairly widespread to widespread rainfall/thunderstorm and lightning with isolated heavy rainfall very likely over Chhattisgarh during September 19- 22.
South India: Light/moderate fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy rainfall very likely over Coastal Andhra Pradesh on September 19 and 20 and interior Tamil Nadu, Kerala on September 19.
