A low pressure area has formed over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and its neighbourhood on Thursday, informed the Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar.

Under the influence of the low pressure, several places in Odisha are likely to witness rainfall activities till July 27. 

"Under the influence of the yesterday's cyclonic circulation a Low Pressure Area has formed today over the North West Bay of Bengal & neighbourhood," the Bhubaneswar Met Centre tweeted.  

The weather office has issued Yellow Warning for 16 districts of Odisha today. The districts are Balasore, Bhadrak, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Sundergarh, Koraput, Malkangiri, Khordha, Sambalpur, Puri, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara and Deogarh.

The Met centre further predicted formation of a fresh low pressure area over North Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood around July 27. Under its influence, widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy falls are likely over East and adjoining Central and Northwest India during July 26-27.
