Low pressure by Nov 23, no direct impact over Odisha; rain likely in coastal areas
The upper air cyclonic circulation now lies over east Equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining south Andaman Sea extending upto mid tropospheric levels. Under its influence a low pressure area is likely to form over southeast Bay of Bengal around November 23, informed India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday.
Thereafter, it is likely to move west-northwestwards and intensify into a depression over central parts of south Bay of Bengal during subsequent two days. Only after a low pressure area develops, a clarity would emerge whether the system would develop into a cyclonic storm or not.
IMD Bhubaneswar Regional Director, Manorama Mohanty today said that the system is under continuous watch and its impact is likely to be over Tamil Nadu- Sri Lanka coasts. There is no possibility of rain or wind in Odisha in the next four to five days.
However, coastal parts of Odisha may experience cloudy weather condition. The system might become weak and there is possibility of rainfall in some pockets of the state around November 27 and November 28.
"There is no direct impact of the system over Odisha. However, we are expecting some rainfall," said Mohanty. Weather Forecast
