IMD Predicts Heavy Rain In Odisha
Under the influence of a cyclonic circulation that developed yesterday, a low-pressure area has formed this morning over the northwest Bay of Bengal, adjacent to the coastal regions of West Bengal and Bangladesh, informed the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday.
This development has drawn significant attention from meteorological authorities due to its potential impact over the next few days.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the system is expected to gradually move in a west-northwestward direction. Over the course of the next 48 hours, it is likely to traverse through northern Odisha, West Bengal, and parts of Jharkhand.
Weather experts are closely monitoring the system, as such low-pressure areas during the monsoon season often bring widespread rainfall and gusty winds, which could affect normal life and agricultural activities in the region.
