The India Meteorological Department has issued fresh thunderstorm alert for 13 districts of Odisha today besides issuing a Yellow Warning for them.

As per a bulletin issued by the Regional Meteorological Centre of the IMD, Bhubaneswar, thunderstorm with lightning is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Deogarh.

Apart from that the Yellow Warning has also been issued for the districts of Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Balasore, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Kendrapara, Kalahandi, Bolangir till 8.30 am tomorrow (May 29).

According to the weather bureau, a cyclonic circulation lies over north Odisha & neighbourhood at 0.9 km above mean sea level while a east west trough now runs from south Punjab to East Uttar Pradesh across Haryana at 0.9 km above mean sea level.

The sea conditions are slowly conditions are gradually becoming favorable for onset of Monsoon over Kerala during next 2-3 days. The conditions are also favourable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into some more parts of Arabian Sea and Lakshadweep area during the same period.

The IMD has said that light rain / thundershower have occurred at one or two places over the districts of Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sonepur, Kalahandi, Baragarh, Balasore, Dhenkanal, Sundargarh and Sambalpur while dry weather prevailed over the rest districts of Odisha.
