A low pressure area is likely to form over Southeast and adjoining Eastcentral Arabian Sea around December 13, informed India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday.
As per IMD, currently, a cyclonic circulation lies over Kerala and neighbourhood and it is very likely to emerge into Southeast and adjoining Eastcentral Arabian Sea off north Kerala-Karnataka coast. Under its influence, the low pressure area is likely to form over the same region around tomorrow and move west-northwestwards away from the Indian coast thereafter.
i) Isolated heavy rainfall activity likely to continue over south peninsular India during next 24 hours and reduce thereafter.

Rainfall Warning
Light to moderate rainfall at most places with heavy rainfall at isolated places very likely over Tamil Nadu, South Interior Karnataka, south Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema today; over Kerala & Mahe & Lakshadweep on December 12 and 13, 2022 and decrease in rainfall activity over the region thereafter.

Sea area warning
Squally weather (wind speed reaching 35-45 kmph gusting to 55 kmph) very likely over southeast & adjoining eastcentral Arabian Sea and along & off Kerala-Karnataka coast and Lakshadweep area on December 12 and 13 and over eastcentral & adjoining southeast Arabian Sea during 14th -15th and over Central & south Arabian Sea on December 16, 2022.
“A cyclonic circulation likely to emerge into south Andaman Sea around December 13, 2022. Under its influence, fairly widespread rainfall with isolated heavy rainfall likely over Nicobar Islands on December 15,” predicted IMD.
