Heavy rainfall is likely to continue over Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar during next 24 hours, predicted India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday.

As per IMD, the conditions are likely to become favourable for withdrawal of southwest monsoon from some more parts of northwest and central India during next 4-5 days.

“A fresh Western Disturbance as a trough in mid and upper tropospheric westerlies runs roughly along 64°E to the north of 25°N.A cyclonic circulation lies over south Haryana & its neighbourhood in lower tropospheric levels. Another cyclonic circulation lies over north Tamil Nadu and neighbourhood and a trough runs from this cyclonic circulation to northeast Rajasthan in lower tropospheric levels,” said IMD.

Weather forecast and warnings

Isolated/scattered heavy rainfall/ thunderstorm/lightning is very likely over Uttarakhand, Punjab and West Uttar Pradesh on October 10 and East Uttar Pradesh on October 10 and 11.

Light/moderate rainfall with isolated heavy rainfall/ thunderstorm/lightning is very likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal from October 10 to 14.

Isolated heavy rainfall and thunderstorm/lightning is very likely over Arunachal Pradesh and Assam and Meghalaya during October 10-12, over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on October 10 and 11. Isolated heavy falls are very likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim and Bihar during October 10-12.
