IMD predicts heavy to very heavy rainfall in some Odisha districts
The Monsoon trough at mean sea level now passes through Jaisalmer, Ajmer, Gwalior, Balasore and thence east-south-eastwards to northeast Bay of Bengal.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday informed that a cyclonic circulation lies over Jharkhand and another cyclonic circulation lies over Bangladesh and the neighbourhood.
As per IMD, several parts of Odisha are currently experiencing rainfall activities and it is likely to continue till August 4, 2024. A yellow warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall has been issued for some districts in Odisha.
Day 1 (Valid upto 0830 hrs IST of 31.07.2024)
Yellow Warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20 cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack.
Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 31.07.2024to 0830 hrs IST of 01.08.2024)
Yellow Warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20 cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Sambalpur.
Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 01.08.2024to 0830 hrs IST of 02.08.2024)
Yellow Warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20 cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bolangir, Bargarh, Nuapada.
Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Deogarh, Angul, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi,Sonepur, Boudh.
Day 4 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 02.08.2024to 0830 hrs IST of 03.08.2024)
Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Angul .
Day 5 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 03.08.2024to 0830 hrs IST of 04.08.2024)
Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Jharsuguda.
