The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday issued a ‘yellow warning’ for thunderstorm activities in different parts of Odisha.

As per the IMD, the thunderstorm activities are likely to continue till August 14, 2023. Similarly, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Odisha on the occasion of Independence Day on August 15.

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Khordha, Puri, Nayagarh.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 12.08.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 13.08.2023)

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara,Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Boudh.

Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 13.08.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 14.08.2023)

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Koraput, Malkangiri, Gajapati, Rayagada.

Day 4 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 14.08.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 15.08.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Odisha.
