A low pressure area currently lies over Southeast Arabian Sea, informed Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday. Moreover, it is likely to move nearly northwards and become well well-marked low pressure area over Southeast Arabian Sea during the next 24 hours.

In its daily bulletin, IMD informed that a cyclonic circulation lies over northwest Uttar Pradesh in lower tropospheric levels. The weather agency has predicted that cold day to severe cold conditions are likely to prevail in several parts of the country in coming days.

Cold day to severe cold day conditions are very likely in many parts over Punjab, Haryana on January 1 and 2; in some parts on 3rd and cold day conditions in isolated pockets on 4th & 5th January 2024.
