The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday issued a ‘yellow warning’ for dense fog in several parts of Odisha in the next 24 hours.

As per IMD’s Regional Centre in Bhubaneswar, the dense fog alert has been issued for one or two places over the districts of Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Bolangir, Sonepur, Angul, Dhenkanal and Cuttack.

The weather agency has also predicted rain occurrence at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Mayurbhanj in the next 24 hours.

“There will be no large change in the minimum temperature (night temperature) over the districts of Odisha. It is likely to be above normal by 3 to 5 degree C at many places over the districts of Odisha during the next 4-5 days,” said IMD.

Day-1 (valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 03.01.2023)

Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Koraput, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Boudh, Sonepur, Bolangir, Nayagarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Keonjhar, Jajpur, Khordha, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Bhadrak.

Yellow Warning

Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Bolangir, Sonepur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack.

Day-2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 03.01.2023 up to 0830 hrs IST of 04.01.2023)

Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Kandhamal, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Angul, Jharsuguda, Dhenkanal, Nabarangpur, Cuttack.

Day-3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 04.01.2023 up to 0830 hrs IST of 05.01.2023)

Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Koraput, Cuttack.
