A cyclonic circulation lies over interior Odisha at 1.5 km above mean sea level, India Meteorological Department's (IMD) Regional Centre in Bhubaneswar informed on Friday.

As per IMD, light rain has occurred at one or two places over the districts of Balasore and Mayurbhanj in North Odisha. Similarly, light rain is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore , Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada and Jagatsinghpur in the next 24 hours.

HR Biswas, Director of the Bhubaneswar Met Centre said, “Balasore has recorded 4.0 mm of rainfall and the weather was mostly dry in other parts of the state in the past 24 hours. A rise in temperature has been observed in several parts of the state.”

According to Biswas, there are chances of light rain in Mayurbhanj, Balasore , Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada and Jagatsinghpur in 24 hours. Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts Koraput, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Boudh, Kalahandi, Angul, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Balasore in the next 24 hours.

“The minimum temperature (night temperature) is very likely to rise by 2- 3 degrees C at many places over the districts of Interior Odisha during the next two days and no large change is expected thereafter over the districts of Odisha,” Biswas added.
