IMD predicts heavy to very heavy rainfall in some Odisha districts; check latest weather updates

The cyclonic circulation over interior Odisha and neighbourhood has become less marked, informed the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday.

As per IMD, light to moderate rain/ thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha in the next 24 hours. A yellow warning for heavy rainfall in three districts has also been issued by the IMD.

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar. Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 13.07.2024to 0830 hrs IST of 14.07.2024)

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning and heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar.

Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 14.07.2024to 0830 hrs IST of 15.07.2024)

Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Kalahandi.

Day 4 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 15.07.2024to 0830 hrs IST of 16.07.2024)

Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nawarangpur and heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput.

Day 5 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 16.07.2024to 0830 hrs IST of 17.07.2024)

Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Kandhamal and heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Nayagarh.
