The cyclonic circulation over east Jharkhand and neighbourhood now lies over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and neighbourhood. The trough from west Assam to north Odisha has become less marked, informed the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday.

IMD has predicted heavy rainfall and thunderstorm activities in several parts of Odisha in the next 48 hours. A yellow warning in this regard has also been issued.

As per IMD, surface wind with speed reaching up to 40 to 50 kmph is likely along and off North Odisha coast during next 24 hours due to steep pressure gradient.

Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar. Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Deogarh, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 02.07.2024to 0830 hrs IST of 03.07.2024)

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Deogarh, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur.
