IMD predicts fresh spell of very heavy rainfall over south Peninsular India from July 2

As per the IMD, the conditions are favourable for further advancement of Southwest Monsoon into remaining parts of the country, remaining parts of Rajasthan and Haryana and Punjab) during next two days.

Heavy Rainfall Likely

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday predicted fresh spell of heavy to very heavy rainfall over south Peninsular India from July 2, 2023.

As per the IMD, the conditions are favourable for further advancement of Southwest Monsoon into remaining parts of the country, remaining parts of Rajasthan and Haryana and Punjab) during next two days.

Weather Forecast and Warning

Northwest India: Isolated Heavy rainfall very likely over Uttarakhand on 30th June, 03rd & 04th July; West Rajasthan, West Uttar Pradesh on 30th June, East Uttar Pradesh and East Rajasthan on 30th June & 1st July. Central India: Light/moderate fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy falls very likely over Madhya Pradesh during next 2 days.

West India: Light/moderate fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely over Konkan & Goa and Ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra during next 5 days and Gujarat State during next 2 days.

East & adjoining Northeast India: Isolated heavy rainfall also likely over Gangetic West Bengal on 30th June & 3rd July; Jharkhand on 3rd and Odisha on 03rd & 04th July.

South India: Light/moderate scattered to widespread rainfall very likely over Kerala & Mahe, Coastal & South Interior Karnataka during next 5 days Isolated heavy rainfall also likely over Coastal Karnataka & Kerala during next 5 days; South Interior Karnataka & Tamil Nadu during 2nd-4th July; Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Rayalaseema on 3rd & 4th July; Telangana on 4th July.
