The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday predicted a drop in the minimum (night) temperature in several parts of Odisha.

The Weather department said that the minimum temperature is likely to gradually fall by 3 to 5 degree Celsius during the next three days in the State. However, there will be no major change thereafter.

A trough runs from Bihar to north Interior Karnataka across Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Telangana at 1.5 km above mean sea level. Moreover, the trough from the cyclonic circulation over northern parts of east Uttar Pradesh and neighbourhood to north Interior Karnataka across Chhattisgarh and Telangana at 0.9 km above mean sea level has become less marked.

Light rainfall has occurred at one or two places over the districts of Sundergarh, Sambalpur, Keonjhar and Jharsuguda in the past 24 hours. Titilagarh recorded the highest maximum temperature of 32.4 degree Celsius while Phulbani recorded lowest minimum temperature of 12 degrees in the past 24 hours.

Day-1 (valid upto 0830 hrs IST of 11.02.2022) Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur,Dhenkanal and at one or two places over the rest districts of North Odisha, Nuapada, Bolangir, Sonepur, Kalahandi, Boudh, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Khordha and Puri.

Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of coastal Odisha, Dhenkanal, Angul and Kandhamal.
