Odisha is experiencing a spell of intense heat and humid conditions for the past several days. This has adversely affected normal life across the state.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday predicted that there will be no large change in the maximum temperature at many places over the districts of Odisha during next five days.

As per the IMD, the maximum temperature is likely to be 42 degrees Celsius or more at a few places over some districts of interior Odisha- Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Angul, Boudh, Sonepur, Bargarh, Bolangir, and Kalahandi.

Day 1 (Valid upto 0830 hrs IST of 17.05.2023)

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind with speed reaching up to 40-50 Kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Cuttack and Khordha. Thunderstorm with lightning is also very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Puri, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, and Dhenkanal.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 17.05.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 18.05.2023)

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind with speed reaching up to 40-50 Kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur. Similarly, thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Dhenkanal, Angul.

Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 18.05.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 19.05.2023)

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind with speed reaching up to 40-50 Kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, and Rayagada.

Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Kandhamal, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur.
