Even as people are battling with excess heat and humid conditions, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted thunderstorm activities in several parts of the State in the next 24 hours.

As per IMD’s Regional Centre, thunderstorm with lightning is likely to occur in 11 districts of the State in the next 24 hours. A yellow warning for Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Jharsuguda, Sundergarh districts have been issued.

Meanwhile, Deogarh recorded the highest maximum temperature of 44.0 degree C in the past 24 hours.

Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Jharsuguda and Sundargarh.

Day-2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 27.05.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 28.05.2022)

Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Nuapada, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Jharsuguda and Sambalpur.

Day-3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 28.05.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 29.05.2022)

Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of south interior Odisha, Gajapati, Ganjam, Bargarh, Nayagarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Balasore.

Day-4 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 29.05.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 30.05.2022)

Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, Sundergarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal,Angul, Kandhamal,Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Koraput, Kalahandi and Nuapada.
