IMD issues yellow alert for rain in Odisha
It is now for the past couple of days that several parts of Odisha are experiencing overcast conditions with a strong breeze. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday issued a yellow warning for light rainfall in several parts of Odisha.
The yellow warning has been issued for Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Dhenkanal, Cuttack (including Cuttack city), Puri, Khordha (including Bhubaneswar), Nayagarh, Ganjam and Gajapati.
As per IMD, the yellow alert will remain valid for the next three hours.
It is pertinent to mention here that a deep depression is active over Southwest Bay of Bengal and it is very likely to move northwestwards and cross north Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coasts between Karaikal and Mahabalipuram close to Puducherry around morning of November 30 as a deep depression.

Meanwhile, G.Udayagiri in Kandhamal district recorded the season’s lowest temperature of 6.2 degree Celsius on Thursday. Similarly, Phulbani witnessed 8.5 degree Celsius and Daringbadi recorded a minimum temperature of 10 degree Celsius.
Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 29.11.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 30.11.2024): Light to moderate rain is very likely to occur at one or two places in the districts of Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Cuttack, Khordha, Nayagarh, Gajapati, Ganjam, Rayagada, Koraput and Malkangiri.
Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 30.11.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 01.12.2024): Light rain is very likely to occur at one or two places in the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur.
