Several parts of Odisha experienced light to moderate rainfall on Tuesday. Though the rain provided much needed relief from heat conditions, there won’t be much change in the maximum (day temperature) over next couple of days.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) today said the maximum is likely to be above normal by 2 to 3 degree Celsius during next three days and it will decrease thereafter over the districts of Odisha.

IMD has issued a ‘yellow warning’ for thunderstorm with lightning in several parts of the state.

Weather forecast and warnings: Day-1 (valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 03.08.2022)

Yellow Warning( Be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangpur, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Khordha, Puri, Boudh, Angul, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Cuttack, Dhenkanal.

Day-2 (valid from0830 hrs IST of 03.08.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 04.08.2022)

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangpur, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Gajapati, Nuapada, Bolangir, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Keonjhar . Day 3 (No major alert)

Day-4 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 05.08.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 06.08.2022)

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kandhamal.

Day-5 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 06.08.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 07.08.2022)

Yellow Warning( Be updated): Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Ganjam, Khordha, Kandhamal, Kalahandi and heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nawarangpur, Nuapada, Bolangir, Boudh, Sonepur, Bargarh, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Gajapati.
