The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday predicted a rise in the minimum temperature (night temperature) in different parts of Odisha in the next 48 hours. This is likely to provide some relief to the people of the state who are currently experiencing a spell of intense cold-wave conditions.

As per IMD, the minimum temperature is likely to rise by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius at several places over the districts of Odisha during the next two days and no large change thereafter.

The IMD has also issued a yellow warning for dense fog in several parts of the state till December 25 (Christmas).

Day 1 (Valid upto 0830 hrs IST of 23.12.2023)

Yellow Warning: Dense fog very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Koraput.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 23.12.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 24.12.2023)

Yellow Warning: Dense fog very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Koraput.

Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 24.12.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 25.12.2023)

Yellow Warning: Dense fog very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Koraput, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Bolangir, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal.
