Even though the cold conditions have improved considerably with a gradual rise in the minimum (night) temperature, several parts of Odisha are witnessing a dense fog cover during early morning hours.

India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday issued ‘Yellow Warning’ for dense fog which is likely to occur at several parts of the State on Monday. Apart from the dense fog, several parts of the State will also experience light to moderate rain or thundershower activities from tomorrow.

As per the IMD, Sundergarh district recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 11 degree Celsius on Sunday night.

Weather forecast and warning for districts of Odisha for next few days:

Day-1 (valid upto 0830 hrs IST of 27.12.2021): Shallow to moderate fog very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of interior Odisha and at one or two places over the districts of costal Odisha.

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Dense fog very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundergarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Kalahandi, Malkangiri and Koraput.

Day-2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 27.12.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 28.12.2021) Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundergarh, Jharsuguda and Keonjhar.

Day-3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 28.12.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 29.12.2021) Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar and at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal and Balasore.

Day-4 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 29.12.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 30.12.2021) Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Balasore, Deogarh, Sambalpur and at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Cuttack and Kendrapara.
