The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday issued a yellow warning for cold wave conditions in several parts of Odisha. The IMD has issued an alert for cold wave conditions for the next 48 hours.

Cold wave conditions are likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Deogarh, and Angul in the next 24 hours. Besides, the IMD has also issued a yellow warning for dense fog in several parts of the state.

“There will be no large change in the minimum temperature (night temperature) during the next 3 days and it is likely to rise gradually by 2-3 degrees C thereafter at many places in Odisha,” said the IMD.

Yellow Warning: Cold wave condition likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Deogarh, Angul.

Dense fog very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Sonepur, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Koraput, Nayagarh, Khordha, Cuttack, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Jagatsinghpur, Puri.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 27.01.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 28.01.2024)

Yellow Warning: Cold wave condition likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Deogarh, Angul.

Dense fog very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Cuttack, Boudh, Sonepur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Khordha, Ganjam, Gajapati, Nayagarh, Rayagada, Koraput.
