IMD issues thunderstorm alert for Odisha districts till June 17

The people across Odisha are anxiously waiting for the onset of the southwest monsoon. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday said that the monsoon is likely to arrive in some parts of the State in the next three days.

IMD’s Regional Centre in Bhubaneswar has predicted thunderstorm activities in several parts of the State till June 17. A yellow warning for thunderstorm and lightning has also been issued.

Weather Forecast and Warning: Day-1 (valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 13.06.2022)

Yellow Warning( Be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Nuapada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Balasore, Nabarangpur.

Day-2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 13.06.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 14.06.2022)

Yellow Warning( Be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Kandhamal, Nawarangpur, Kalahandi, Malkangiri.

Day-3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 14.06.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 15.06.2022)
