Gear up to brave extreme cold conditions as there will be no considerable change in the minimum (night) temperature across Odisha during the next three days.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday said the minimum temperature will be below normal by 5 to 6 degree Celsius in the districts of interior Odisha and by 4 to 5 degrees in the districts of coastal Odisha during the next 3 days.

The IMD has also issued an ‘Orange warning’ for isolated cold wave to severe cold wave conditions for seven districts in the State. These districts are Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Mayurbhanj, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Sonepur and Boudh.

Weather forecast and warning for districts of Odisha:

Day-1 (valid upto 0830 hrs IST of 22.12.2021)

Orange Warning (Be prepared): Isolated cold wave to severe cold wave conditions very likely to prevail over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Mayurbhanj, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Sonepur and Boudh.

Yellow Warning (Be prepared): Isolated cold wave conditions very likely to prevail over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha Cuttack, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Angul, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Nuapada, Kandhamal and Nabarangpur.

Day-2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 22.12.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 23.12.2021)

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Isolated cold wave conditions very likely to prevail over the districts of Angul, Sonepur, Boudh, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nuapada, Nabarangpur, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Balasore, Bhadrak, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Cuttack and Khordha.

Yellow Warning (Be prepared): Isolated cold wave conditions very likely to prevail over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore and Kandhamal.

Day-3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 23.12.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 24.12.2021)

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Isolated cold wave conditions very likely to prevail over the districts of Kalahandi, Bolangir, Nuapada, Nabarangpur, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
