A day after several parts of coastal Odisha, including twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar experienced enhanced rainfall activities, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted continued rainfall activities for several districts in the state.

An 'orange warning' for heavy rainfall has been issued for seven districts of the state today. The alert has been issued for the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Nabarangapur and Koraput.  As per IMD, heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places in the above mentioned districts.

Meanwhile, another fresh cyclonic circulation is likely to form over Northwest Bay of Bengal around July 18, 2023. Wet spells of monsoon rainfall activity likely to continue over Odisha with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall, predicted IMD.

Day-3: (Valid from 0830 Hrs IST of 17.07.2023to 0830 Hrs IST of 18.07.2023)

Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall(7 to 11cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nabarangapur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara.

Day-4: (Valid from 0830 Hrs IST of 18.07.2023to 0830 Hrs IST of 19.07.2023)

Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh.
