The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday issued an ' orange warning' for thunderstorm and intense spell of rain in the next three hours in five districts of Odisha.

The alert has been issued for the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Balasore, Bhadrak and Jajpur.

The IMD has also issued a yellow warning for seven districts in Odisha. The alert has been sounded in view of moderate rain, thundershower with lightning in Ganjam, Gajapati, Cuttack (including Cuttack city), Dhenkanal, Nayagarh and Khordha within the next three hours.

"People are advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places," said IMD Bhubaneswar in a release.
