The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday predicted heavy rainfall for five districts of Odisha in the next 24 hours.

A Yellow warning has been issued for the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara and Jagatsinghpur. The well-marked Low Pressure area over southeast Madhya Pradesh and adjoining parts of north Vidarbha has weakened into a low pressure area and moved away.

As per IMD, a Low Pressure area is likely to form over north and adjoining central Bay of Bengal around September 11, 2021. It is likely to become more marked during the subsequent 24 hours.

Day 1 (valid from 1330 hrs IST of 08.09.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 09.09.2021)

Yellow Warning (To be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara and Jagatsinghpur.

Day 3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 10.09.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 11.09.2021)

Yellow Warning (To be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bolangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.

Day 4 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 11.09.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 12.09.2021)

Yellow Warning (To be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Angul, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Sonepur and Bargarh.

Day 5 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 12.09.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 13.09.2021)

Yellow Warning (To be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Khordha, Puri, Ganjam and Angul.
