The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday issued a ‘yellow warning’ for heavy rainfall in several Odisha districts in the next few days. Some districts may also experience an intense spell on Rath Yatra day on July 7, 2024.

IMD today informed that the Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into remaining parts of Rajasthan, Haryana and Punjab. Thus, it has covered the entire country against the normal date of July 8 (6 days before the normal date of covering the entire India).

Day 1 (Valid upto 0830 hrs IST of 04.07.2024)

Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Keonjhar.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 04.07.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 05.07.2024)

Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh .

Day 4 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 06.07.2024to 0830 hrs IST of 07.07.2024)

Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput,Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar.

Day 5 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 07.07.2024to 0830 hrs IST of 08.07.2024)

Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati.
