Heavy rainfall alert
The low pressure area now lies over north Chhattisgarh and neighbourhood with associated cyclonic circulation extending up to 7.6 km above mean sea level, said the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday.
As per IMD, It is very likely to move towards north Madhya Pradesh during next two days. Under the influence of a strong southwest monsoon current and low-pressure area over north Chhattisgarh and neighbourhood, squally weather with gusty surface wind with speed reaching up to 40 to 50 kmph is very likely over the Northwest Bay of Bengal adjoining West Central Bay of Bengal, along and off Odisha coast during next 24Hrs.
Fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea along and off Odisha coast, Northwest Bay of Bengal adjoining West Central Bay of Bengal during the next 24 hours.
Odisha recorded 17.4 mm of rainfall in the past 24 hours which is 85 per cent more than the normal rainfall of 9.4 mm. Bargarh district recorded the highest rainfall of 67.7 mm in the past 24 hours.

Yellow Warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda and Bargarh. Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Bolangir, Sambalpur, Sundergarh, Sonepur, Deogarh, Angul, Balasore, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
