Heavy rain, thunderstorm warning issued for Odisha districts; check IMD’s forecast

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday informed that the low-pressure area over south Bangladesh and the neighbourhood now lies over Central parts of Bangladesh and neighbourhood.

Thunderstorm Alert For Odisha Districts

There seems to be no respite on cards for Odisha as several parts of the state are expected to witness rain and thunderstorm activities in the coming days as well.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday informed that the low-pressure area over south Bangladesh and the neighbourhood now lies over Central parts of Bangladesh and neighbourhood.

Similarly, the Monsoon trough at mean sea level now passes through Sri Ganganagar, Rohtak, Orai, Churk, Malda to the centre of a low-pressure area over Central parts of Bangladesh.

Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) and thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Nabarangpur, Koraput, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Gajapati, Balasore, Bargarh, Nuapada.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 21.08.2024to 0830 hrs IST of 22.08.2024)

Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) and thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh.

Day 4 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 23.08.2024to 0830 hrs IST of 24.08.2024)

Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) and thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Bargarh, Nuapada, Bolangir, Sonepur, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati.
