A cyclonic circulation lies over central Assam and a trough runs from northwest Bihar to this cyclonic circulation in lower tropospheric levels, informed the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday.

As per IMD, widespread light to moderate rainfall/snowfall accompanied by isolated thunderstorm and lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) is very likely over Arunachal Pradesh and scattered to fairly widespread rainfall over Assam & Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during April 19 to April 24, 2024.

Isolated heavy rainfall is very likely over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on April 19 and April 21 and isolated very heavy rainfall is also very likely over Arunachal Pradesh on April 20, 2024.

As per IMD, light/moderate rainfall accompanied by isolated thunderstorm and lightning is very likely over Kerala and Mahe during April 19-21 and isolated rainfall accompanied by thunderstorm and lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Rayalaseema, Karnataka, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal during April 19 to April 23.

Heatwave is very likely to prevail in isolated to some pockets of Odisha during 19th-21st; Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal during 19th-23rd; Bihar during 20th-23rd Warm night conditions are very likely to prevail over Odisha and East Uttar Pradesh on 19th and 20th; over Madhya Maharashtra, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Rayalaseema on April 19, 2024.
