At present two Western disturbances seen as cyclonic circulations lie in lower and middle levels; first one over north Pakistan and second over south Pakistan and neighbourhood, informed the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday.

As per IMD, a fresh western disturbance is likely to affect Northwest India from the night of May 1, 2023.

Forecast For Several Parts Of India

Central India

Hailstorm is very likely at isolated places over Vidarbha from April 28 to April 30; over East Madhya Pradesh on April 30. Heavy rainfall is very likely at isolated places over Vidarbha on April 28 and 30.

South India

Hailstorm is very likely at isolated places over Telangana from 28th-30th and North interior Karnataka on April 28.

Heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over Kerala and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal during the next five days.

East India

Hailstorm is very likely at isolated places over Odisha on April 28 and April 30; over Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal on April 30 and May 1, 2023. Heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim from April 29 to May 1 and over Odisha on April 30.

West India

Light to scattered rainfall with thunderstorm/ lightning is likely over Maharashtra and Marathwada and light isolated rainfall over the Gujarat region during the next five days. Hailstorm activity is very likely at isolated places over central Maharashtra and Marathawada on April 28.
