A fresh feeble western disturbance is likely to affect western Himalayan Region from Friday 14, informed the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday.

As per IMD, light isolated rainfall/snowfall with thunderstorm and lightning is very likely to occur over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan and Muzaffarabad under the influence of the system during February 14 and 15.

Similarly, strong surface wind (speed 20-30 kmph) is very likely to occur over the plains of Northwest India during February 12 to 15 and over Bihar on February 12 and 13.

Minimum Temperature and Dense Fog Forecast

The minimum temperature is likely to fall gradually by 3 to 5 degrees C over many parts of Northwest India till February 13 and rise by 4 to 6 degrees C during the subsequent three days. There will also be a gradual fall in the minimum temperatures by 3 to 5 degrees C over many parts of Central India till February 14.

The IMD has predicted that there will be no significant change in the minimum temperatures over East India till tomorrow and fall by 2 to 4 degrees thereafter during the subsequent three days.

“Dense fog is very likely in isolated pockets during night/morning hours over Punjab, east Assam, Tripura and Sub- Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim during next 24 hours,” said IMD.
