Even as the well marked low pressure area over southwest and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal moved north-northwestwards and concentrated into a depression on Thursday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that system has no direct impact over Odisha.

As per IMD’s Regional Centre in Bhubaneswar, the system is likely to continue to move north-northwestwards during the next 24 hours and thereafter gradually recurve west-southwestwards towards Comorin Area across Sri Lanka during the subsequent 48 hours.

The weather agency further said that there will be no large change in the minimum temperature (night temperature) during the next two days. However, the minimum temperature is likely to gradually rise by 2 to 4 degree Celsius thereafter at many places over the districts of Odisha.

Day-1 (valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 23.12.2022): Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Angul, Cuttack, Dhenkenal, Khandhamal, Jajpur, Boudh, Kalahandi and Sonepur.

Day-2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 23.12.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 24.12.2022): Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of North Coastal Odisha, Khordha, Angul, Dhenkenal, Kalahandi and Khandhamal.

Day-3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 24.12.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 25.12.2022): Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of North Coastal Odisha, Khordha, Puri, Nayagarh and Dhenkenal.
