Depression over Odisha Coast near Chilika Lake weakens: IMD forecasts more rainfall
The depression over Odisha's coast near Chilika Lake weakened into a well-marked low-pressure area over coastal Odisha on Saturday. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) earlier informed that it is likely to move northwestwards across Odisha and Chhattisgarh and weaken gradually into a low-pressure area.
As per the IMD's forecast issued yesterday, several parts of Odisha are likely to experience moderate to heavy rainfall in the next couple of days.

Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bolangir, Nuapada, Kandhamal, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapada.
Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 22.07.2024to 0830 hrs IST of 23.07.2024)
Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, and Bhadrak.
Day 4 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 23.07.2024to 0830 hrs IST of 24.07.2024)
Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar.
