Depression now over south Chhattisgarh; Check IMD’s forecast for rainfall, wind speed

The Depression over south Odisha has now moved over south Chhattisgarh. As per India Meteorological Department (IMD) the depression lay centered at 0530 hrs over south Chhattisgarh and adjoining southeast Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha.

It is about 95 km south-southeast of Gondia (Vidarbha) and 185 km southeast of Seoni (Madhya Pradesh).

“It is likely to move nearly northwestwards and weaken gradually during next 12 hours,” said IMD in its latest bulletin.

September 12: Rainfall at most places with heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places is likely over Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Gangetic West Bengal and East Madhya Pradesh and heavy rainfall at isolated places is likely over Odisha and Telangana.

September 13: Rainfall at most places with heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places is likely over East Madhya Pradesh and heavy rainfall at isolated places is likely over Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Vidarbha.

Wind warning

Squally weather (wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph) are very likely to prevail over northwest and westcentral Bay of Bengal and along & off North Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and West Bengal coasts on September 12 and off North Andhra Pradesh and Odisha coasts on September 13, 2022.
