A depression has formed over the southeast Arabian Sea, informed the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday. As per the IMD’s latest weather update, the depression lay centered about 920 km west-southwest of Goa, 1120 km south-southwest of Mumbai, 1160 km south of Porbander and 1520 km south of Karachi.

“It is likely to move nearly northwards and intensify into a cyclonic storm over Eastcentral Arabian Sea & adjoining southeast during next 24 hours,” said the IMD.

7.06.23 (1730): Maximum sustained surface wind speed 70-80 gusting to 90 (Kmph)

8.06.23 (1730) (Severe Cyclonic Storm): Maximum sustained surface wind speed 90-100 gusting to 110 (Kmph)

9.06.23 (1730) (Severe Cyclonic Storm): Maximum sustained surface wind speed 105-110 gusting to 125(Kmph)

10.06.23 (1730) (Very Severe Cyclonic Storm): Maximum sustained surface wind speed 115-125 gusting to 140 (Kmph)

11.06.23 (0530) (Very Severe Cyclonic Storm): Maximum sustained surface wind speed 125-135 gusting to 150 (Kmph)

Sea Condition

June 9: Sea condition is likely to be very high to phenomenal over eastcentral & adjoining westcentral Arabian Sea and it is likely to become phenomenal from night of 9th June over the same area. Sea condition is likely to be rough over adjoining areas of South Arabian Sea and along & off Karnataka-Goa- Maharashtra coasts.

June 10: Sea condition is likely to be very high to phenomenal over eastcentral & adjoining westcentral Arabian Sea and it is likely to become phenomenal from night of 9th June over the same area. Sea condition is likely to be rough over adjoining areas of South Arabian Sea and along & off Karnataka-Goa- Maharashtra coasts.
