A dense fog engulfed several parts of Odisha, including the Twin city of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, on Monday morning affecting vehicular movement in the cities.

The thick blanket of fog in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar disrupted traffic and vehicular movement with visibility reducing to 50 and 100 meters respectively.

Moderate fog was also witnessed over Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Koraput, Rayagada and parts of Khordha districts. 

The Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar on Sunday predicted heavy rainfall with thunderstorm and hailstorm activities over the districts of Odisha between January 11 and 14.

The weather office has issued yellow warning for thunderstorms accompanied by hail over the districts of Bargarh, Bolangir, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh and Deogarh on Tuesday.

Similarly, yellow warning for light to moderate rain or thundershower has been issued for Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Angul, Boudh, Cuttack, Nayagarh and Dhenkanal district on January 12 and Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Nayagarh and Kandhamal on January 12, respectively.

The Met office said minimum temperature (night temperature) is very likely to rise by 2 degrees to 3 degrees during the next two days and no large change will be witnessed thereafter over the districts of Odisha.
