The IMD further informed that a fresh western disturbance is likely to affect northwest India from the night of  January 14, 2025.

A cyclonic circulation lies over Southwest and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal in lower tropospheric levels.  Light to moderate rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm, lightning is very likely at a few places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal during January 11 to 15 under its influence, informed the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday.

As per IMD, light to moderate rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm, lightning is also likely at a few places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh,  Yanam during 12th-14th and Rayalaseema on 13th & 14th; Kerala and Mahe during 13th-15th January with isolated heavy rainfall likely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal during next five days.

The IMD further informed that a fresh western disturbance is likely to affect northwest India from the night of  January 14, 2025. Under its influence, Isolated rainfall/snowfall activity likely over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh during15th -17th and Isolated rainfall activity over East Rajasthan on 14th and 15th January.

Forecast For Odisha

The IMD informed that the minimum temperature (night temperature) is very likely to rise by 2-4 degree C during next three days and thereafter fall by 2-3 degree C during the subsequent two days over the districts of Odisha.

Yellow Warning: Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Kandhamal, Cuttack, Khordha, Angul, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Nayagarh, Sundargarh.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 12.01.2025 to 0830 hrs IST of 13.01.2025)

Yellow Warning: Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the district of Koraput, Kandhamal, Cuttack, Khordha, Angul, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Nayagarh, Sundargarh.
