Cyclonic circulation over north Coastal Andhra Pradesh; low-pressure over Bay of Bengal around September 5

Heavy rainfall to lash several Odisha districts

The cyclonic circulation over the coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam now lies over the north Coastal Andhra Pradesh and neighbourhood. Under its influence, a fresh low-pressure area is likely to form over the west-central and the adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal around September 5, 2024.

Similarly, the Monsoon trough at mean sea level now passes through Jaisalmer, Kota, Guna, Seoni, Ramagundam, Kalingapatnam and thence south-eastwards to east-central Bay of Bengal, informed India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday.

Several parts of Odisha are likely to experience thunderstorms with lightning and heavy rainfall activities till September 9, 2024.

Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) and thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Rayagada, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal.

Day 4 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 07.09.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 08.09.2024)

Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) and thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Khordha, Cuttack, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Nayagarh.
