A cyclonic circulation lies over the East-central Bay of Bengal, informed the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday. Similarly, the Monsoon trough now passes through Jaisalmer, Sikar, Orai, Churk, Daltonganj, Purulia, Contai and thence east-southeastwards to the northeast Bay of Bengal.

As per IMD, several parts of Odisha are likely to experience thunderstorms and heavy rainfall activities in the next few days.

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 06.07.2024to 0830 hrs IST of 07.07.2024)

Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Koraput, Malkangiri.

Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 07.07.2024to 0830 hrs IST of 08.07.2024)

Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Nawarangpur, Khordha, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Puri, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri, Kandhamal, Ganjam.
