The cyclonic circulation over Odisha and the neighbourhood has become less marked. Similarly, the cyclonic circulation over southwest Madhya Pradesh and the neighbourhood now lies over north Chhattisgarh and neighbourhood, said the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday.

Moreover, the IMD has issued an orange warning for thunderstorm with lightning in several parts of Odisha (till 0830 hours of March 31, 2024). Apart from this, some parts of the state might also experience hail accompanied by gusty winds.

Day 1 (Valid upto 0830 hrs IST of 31.03.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sundargarh and at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Bolangir, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Angul, Mayurbhanj, Balasore.

Orange Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning and hail accompanied with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 KMPH very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sundargarh.

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 KMPH very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts Nuapada, Bolangir, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 31.03.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 01.04.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershower very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Jajpur, Bhadrak.
