As Odisha braces up for another cyclone developing in the Bay as a low pressure, the State government on Friday put its action plan on place for deployment of response teams in regions most likely to be affected by the probable disaster.

State Special Relief Commissioner PK Jena today said that the government will concretize its relief plan and deployment of response teams after the low pressure over the south Andaman Sea and adjoining the southeast Bay of Bengal intensifies into a depression by 7th May evening.

As per the IMD forecast, the detail track, intensity and landfall course of the system can be better ascertained after the system develops into a depression.

The SRC has urged fishermen not to venture into sea after May 8 and also asked those in deep sea to return to the coast in view of the story weather. Indian Navy and Coast Guard have been put on alert to maintain vigil on the movement of fishermen.

Further elaborating on the cyclone preparedness, SRC Jena said all departments of the government have been asked to remain under high alert to tackle any emergency situation arising out of the cyclone.
