Odisha has been spared from the wrath of cyclone Jawad after it weakened into a deep depression on Saturday. The deep depression remnant of the cyclone will weaken further into depression and reach Odisha coast near Puri around noon today.

As per India Meteorological Department (IMD), the system is likely to weaken into a well-marked low pressure area in the subsequent 12 hours.

The IMD has already issued Orange warning for heavy rainfall in several districts in Odisha today.

December 5: Light to moderate rainfall at many places with heavy to very heavy rainfall likely at isolated places likely over Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal and heavy rainfall at isolated places over south Assam, Meghalaya,Mizoram and Tripura.

December 6: Light to moderate rainfall at many places with heavy rainfall at isolated places likely over Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Tripura.

Wind warning:

-Squally wind speed reaching 50-60 kmph gusting to 70 kmph prevails over northwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal. It would gradually decrease becoming 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph over northwest and adjoining westcentral Bay of Bengal by the evening of today

-It would decrease further becoming 30-40 gusting to 50 kmph over northwest Bay of Bengal by night of today (December 5) -Squally winds speed reaching 45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph likely to prevail along and off North Andhra Pradesh coast during next 6 hours and along and off Odisha coast till evening of today

- Squally wind speed reaching 35-45 kmph gusting to 55 kmph also likely to commence along and off West Bengal coast till evening of today.
