Cyclone Dana: Cuttack seeks ODRAF, NDRF teams
With cyclonic storm Dana all set to form tomorrow, the Cuttack district administration has now geared up to deal with the emergency situation. Though a clear picture on the probable track and intensity is yet to be issued, the IMD has predicted heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in several parts of Odisha in the next couple of days.
In view of Cyclone Dana alert and the associated risk of flooding, the Cuttack district administration has requested deployment of dedicated ODRAF and NDRF teams at several parts of the district including Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) limits.
In a letter to the Commandant NDRF, 3RD Battalion (Mundali), the Cuttack Collector has requested deployment of two NDRF teams in CMC area and Niali to assist in search and rescue operations.
The Cuttack district administration has also urged deployment of one ODRAF team at Banki and two teams in Athagarh and one team at Salipur as well.
The local administration has urged NDRF and ODRAF officials to deploy their respective teams along with requisite equipment and tools. The teams will work and coordinate with local authorities during any emergency situation.
