Several parts of Odisha experienced rainfall and thunderstorm activities in the past 24 hours. Heavy rainfall was also reported from some districts, disrupting normal life on Wednesday.

The rainfall activities have considerably brought down the temperature, providing much-needed respite to people from the hot conditions. However, such cool weather will only prevail in Odisha for the next 24 hours only as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a sharp increase in the maximum or the day temperature in the state.

As per the IMD, there will be no large change in maximum temperature (day temperature) during the next 24 hrs following which there will be a rise by 8-10 degrees Celsius at most places over the districts of Odisha. Similarly, no large change in minimum temperature (night temperature) during the next 24 hrs and a rise by 3-5 degrees Celsius in the subsequent 4 to 5 days is expected at most places over the districts of Odisha, said IMD in its bulletin.
