The conditions are becoming favourable for the cessation of Northeast Monsoon rains over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, Mahe, and adjoining areas of Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and South Interior Karnataka around January 15, 2024.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday informed that light rainfall or snowfall at isolated places is very likely over Jammu Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad on January 12 and 13 and over Himachal Pradesh today.

Similarly, a fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect Western Himalayan Region from January 16. Under its influence, light rainfall/snowfall at isolated places is very likely over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan- Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh on January 16 and 17 and Uttarakhand on January 17 and 18.

Dense Fog and Cold Day Warning

Dense to very dense fog conditions very likely to prevail for a few hours in night/morning in many parts of Punjab and Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi on January 12 and 13 in some pockets for the subsequent three days.

Dense fog conditions very likely to prevail for a few hours in morning in isolated pockets of Uttarakhand during January 12th-16th.

Cold Day to Severe Cold Day conditions very likely to continue in many parts of Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh on January 12 and 13 and cold day conditions in isolated pockets for the subsequent three days.
