Cold Wave Return Likely In Odisha, 3-4 Degree Fall In Temperature From Thursday: IMD

Though the winter chill is almost missing these days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday predicted that the minimum (night) temperature is likely register a fall by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius after 48 hours.

The absence of the season’s chill can be gauged from the fact that the lowest minimum temperature of 14.3 degree Celsius was recorded at Titilagarh on Monday night.

“There will be no large change in minimum temperature (night temperature) during next 2 days and gradual fall by 3-4 degree Celsius thereafter over the districts of Odisha,” said IMD.

Weather forecast and warning for districts of Odisha for next few days:

Day-1 (valid upto 0830 hrs IST of 29.12.2021) Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Bargarh and at one or two places over the districts of north Odisha and south Costal Odisha.

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi and Kandhamal.

Day-2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 29.12.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 30.12.2021) Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of north interior Odisha and at few places over the districts of Nuapada, Bolangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Nayagarh and Khordha.

Day-3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 30.12.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 31.12.2021) Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of costal Odisha, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal and Kandhamal.

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of north Odisha.

Day-4 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 31.12.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 01.01.2022)

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of north costal Odisha, Khordha, Nayagarh, Puri, Angul, Dhenkanal and Keonjhar.
