There will be no major change in the minimum (night) temperature in different parts of Odisha in the next 48 hours, predicted the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday.

As per IMD, the minimum temperature will be below normal by 4 to 5 degree Celsius in the districts of interior Odisha and by 2 to 3 degrees in coastal belts during the next 48 hours.

It is pertinent to mention here that normal life across Odisha has been adversely hit due to intense cold wave conditions that have been prevailing for the past couple of days. 17 places in Odisha recorded temperature as low as 10 degree Celsius on Tuesday night. Phulbani recorded the season’s coldest night as mercury plunged to 3.6 degree Celsius.

Day-1 (valid upto 0830 hrs IST of 23.12.2021)

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Cold wave conditions very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Sonepur, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Kandhamal, Nuapada and Nabarangpur.

Day-2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 23.12.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 24.12.2021)

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Cold wave conditions very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Sonepur, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Nuapada and Nawarangpur.
